KNOW SWEAT Campaign A Huge Success!
(July/August 2005) In April we told you about the launch of the International Hyperhidrosis Society’s Know Sweat campaign, which is designed to raise awareness about excessive sweating and to encourage people who think they sweat too much to see a dermatologist.

In just the three months since its launch, we are happy to report that the campaign has already met its goal – and then some!

Thanks to the campaign's inaugural press briefing and our telephone outreach to healthcare reporters around the country, nearly 100 MILLION people have been reached thus far via articles and television segments reporting on the Know Sweat campaign. Important outlets such as CBS Marketwatch, Prevention, Real Simple, Seventeen, many local newspapers, and television stations in virtually every state have covered hyperhidrosis in the past 12 weeks. We are also expecting feature stories in Vogue en Espanol, Healthy Kids en Espanol and CosmoGirl! magazines in upcoming issues. We're certain that this media attention is having an impact because hits to our Web Site, SweatHelp.org, have increased by 300 percent since the campaign began!

But the campaign isn't over yet. This fall we will distribute a radio public service announcement about the importance of seeing a doctor if you feel you sweat too much.

We look forward to continued success with this awareness campaign and are eager to hear from you with any suggestions about how to make it even better. Also, if you see an article or a television or radio segment about excessive sweating in your local media, let us know. We like to keep track of who's talking about hyperhidrosis so we can be ready to respond to related phone calls, letters, and e-mails.

With the help of the Know Sweat campaign we are truly making strides towards helping the thousands of people who are suffering from excessive sweating to find support and solutions.
