Educational Events a Massive Success in 2005
(November/December 2005) From Texas to London, and from California to Puerto Rico, the International Hyperhidrosis Society has been traveling the world to bring healthcare professionals the information they need to provide the best care possible to their hyperhidrosis patients.

Whether we were presenting at the American Academy of Dermatology, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the Dermatological Society of Puerto Rico, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, or at our own International Hyperhidrosis Society continuing medical education events, we provided attendees with expert information, practical tips, demonstrations, and the latest research (often presented by the leading researchers themselves.)

The outcomes have been outstanding. For instance, at our Sister Society Meeting at the EADV in London, there were more than 100 medical professionals in the audience. As a result, our Physician Finder database received physician registrants from 18 different countries including Kenya, India, Singapore, Poland, Spain, and Israel. At our New York event, we had over 75 participants from all over the U.S. And as an result of our physician education programs in the U.S., over 100 additional physicians have registered with our Physician Finder database in recent weeks – making it easier than ever for people with hyperhidrosis to find knowledgeable care providers.

Next year, look for more healthcare provider educational programs and a new focus – how to incorporate the entire medical practice (nurses, physician assistants, and physicians) into the treatment of excessive sweating for greater efficiency and patient satisfaction.

The International Hyperhidrosis Society will also offer its in-depth hyperhidrosis programs on May 6, 2006, in Las Vegas, and again on October 14, 2006, in Philadelphia. Healthcare providers should mark their calendars and look forward to further registration information.

And don’t miss the American Academy of Dermatology’s (AAD) first-ever hyperhidrosis symposium on Saturday morning, March 4th, 2006, at the AAD's Annual Meeting in San Francisco (see related story in this issue of SweatSolutions).

From innovative nurse-led clinics, to in-depth information on all available treatments (including topical and systemic medications, injections, iontophoresis, and various surgical options), the International Hyperhidrosis Society is dedicated to bringing the most innovative and reliable hyperhidrosis medical information to healthcare providers around the globe.

Remember, by attending an International Hyperhidrosis Society hyperhidrosis education program, healthcare professionals can be highlighted in the International Hyperhidrosis Society's Physician Finder database and noted as being "up-to-date" on the diagnosis and management of excessive sweating. This designation is only available to providers who attend International Hyperhidrosis Society programs and is designed to assist patients seeking treatment as they search for an appropriate physician.

We are looking forward to seeing as many medical professionals as possible in 2006 and would like to thank all of those who we have already met, and who have already registered with our Physician Finder, for helping hyperhidrosis sufferers to find the treatments they need and deserve.
